Road Trip with Friends!

Project GARDEN (The University of Texas at Dallas)

Who Can Participate

3- to 6-year-old children and their caregivers who are participating in Project GARDEN and are able to understand and answer questions in English. Project GARDEN is not currently recruiting new families. What Happens

In this Project GARDEN study, your child will go on a virtual road trip and help some friends along the way! They will help by first playing a guessing game to figure out who has the larger amount, and then by counting fingers on your hand.

What We're Studying

Our study asks how children’s intuitive sense of number (their guesses in the first game) relates to their counting skills (in the second game). Findings from this study will help us better understand what impacts young children’s number development. Ultimately by studying children’s interests, we aim to understand how to help children develop and maintain their number skills.
